Seek the Counsel of the Lord…Do Not Rely on Your Own Understanding
Have you considered what was lost when Adam and Eve chose to rely on their own understanding rather than on God’s counsel?
But…
Have you also considered that with a return to the Counsel and Word of God that Eden could be restored?
And, if so then, are you willing to submit to cooperate with God’s plans in your life to this end?
Eden was a Place God designed to share a life with humanity. It was a place He could be in Proximity to them, in intimacy with them. His Presence constantly available.
Adam and Eve were given full autonomy, but they were to rely on God’s counsel in the knowledge between good and evil. They chose to eat of the tree of good and evil so that they could be like God and chart their own course. As a result, a separation from God occurred and they lost their true north.
And God looked upon the world and saw how degenerate, debased, and vicious it was, for all humanity had corrupted their way upon the earth and lost their true direction. Genesis 6:12 AMPC
For,
BLESSED (HAPPY, fortunate, prosperous, and enviable) is the man who walks and lives not in the counsel of the ungodly [following their advice, their plans and purposes], nor stands [submissive and inactive] in the path where sinners walk, nor sits down [to relax and rest] where the scornful [and the mockers] gather. But his delight and desire are in the law of the Lord, and on His law (the precepts, the instructions, the teachings of God) he habitually meditates (ponders and studies) by day and by night. [Rom. 13:8-10; Gal. 3:1-29; II Tim. 3:16.] Psalm 1:1-2 AMPC
For,
He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, and to love kindness and mercy, and to humble yourself and walk humbly with your God? [Deut. 10:12, 13.] Micah 6:8 AMPC
Thankfully, God chose to pursue His lost treasure that humanity might turn and, choose to believe in Him by having complete confidence in, fully relying on and adhering with trust in Him, that the proximity and intimacy in Eden might be restored.
Therefore, also now, says the Lord, turn and keep on coming to Me with all your heart, with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning [until every hindrance is removed, and the broken fellowship is restored]. Rend your hearts and not your garments and return to the Lord, your God, for He is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abounding in loving-kindness; and He revokes His sentence of evil [when His conditions are met]. Joel 2:12-13 AMPC
For,
He who believes [who adheres to and trusts in and relies on the Gospel and Him Whom it sets forth] and is baptized will be saved [from the penalty of eternal death]; but he who does not believe [who does not adhere to and trust in and rely on the Gospel and Him Whom it sets forth] will be condemned. Mark 16:16 AMPC
Jesus Himself said,
Do you believe in and adhere to the Son of Man or the Son of God? He answered, who is He, Sir? Tell me, that I may believe in and adhere to Him. Jesus said to him, you have seen Him; [in fact] He is talking to you right now. He called out, Lord, I believe! [I rely on, I trust, I cleave to You!] And he worshiped Him. John 9:35-38 AMPC
For Jesus,
By abolishing in His [own crucified] flesh the enmity [caused by] the Law with its decrees and ordinances [which He annulled]; that He from the two might create in Himself one new man [one new quality of humanity out of the two], so making peace. Ephesians 2:15 AMPC
For because He Himself [in His humanity] has suffered in being tempted (tested and tried), He is able [immediately] to run to the cry of (assist, relieve) those who are being tempted and tested and tried [and who therefore are being exposed to suffering]. Hebrews 2:18 AMPC
For God did not send the Son into the world in order to judge (to reject, to condemn, to pass sentence on) the world, but that the world might find salvation and be made safe and sound through Him. John 3:17 AMPC
The Good News…He Has Defeated Sin and Death that destroyed Eden and it’s time for us to return
I have blotted out like a thick cloud your transgressions, and like a cloud your sins. Return to Me, for I have redeemed you. Isaiah 44:22 AMPC
For by [His clouds] God executes judgment upon the peoples; He gives food in abundance. Job 36:31 AMPC
He holds the waters bound in His clouds [which otherwise would spill on earth all at once], and the cloud is not rent under them. He covers the face of His throne and spreads over it His cloud. He has placed an enclosing limit [the horizon] upon the waters at the boundary between light and darkness. By His breath the heavens are garnished; His hand pierced the [swiftly] fleeing serpent. [Ps. 33:6.] Job 26:8-10, 13 AMPC
Sing therefore,
Sing to Him a new song; play skillfully [on the strings] with a loud and joyful sound. For the word of the Lord is right; and all His work is done in faithfulness. He loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of the loving-kindness of the Lord. By the word of the Lord were the heavens made, and all their host by the breath of His mouth. [Heb. 11:3; II Pet. 3:5.] For He spoke, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast. The Counsel of the Lord stands forever, the thoughts of His heart through all generations. Our inner selves wait [earnestly] for the Lord; He is our Help and our Shield. For in Him does our heart rejoice, because we have trusted (relied on and been confident) in His holy name. Psalm 33:3-6, 9, 11, 20-21 AMPC
