God of the Universe

Have you been looking Up this month at the night sky?

For Jesus said,

‘This is what I will do in the last days—

I will pour out my Spirit on everybody and cause your sons and daughters to prophesy, and your young men will see visions, and your old men will experience dreams from God. I will reveal startling Signs and Wonders in the Sky above and mighty miracles on the earth below. Blood and fire and pillars of clouds will appear. Acts 2: 17-19

In the 2020 July sky, we can now see with our naked eye 6 heavenly bodies:  Mars, Venus, Mercury, Jupiter, Saturn and the moon

One of those bodies, Saturn has begun its summer.  This is big news for the frozen planet.  Summer only comes once every 30 years.  Saturn is the 6th planet from the sun.

Are there any clues as to what all this means?

The number six in Hebrew, “ ו (shesh) שֵׁשׁ  means image, man, beast, flesh, sacrifice, intimacy, finished work, knowledge, sacrificial love, number of man and beast, antichrist, idol, and judgment.”

So, six is the number of both imperfect man, the beast or antichrist, sacrifice, sacrificial love, and finished work.

The planet Saturn is named after the Roman religious god of capitol, wealth, agriculture, liberation, and, after the Roman conquest of Greece, time.  Saturn’s mythological reign was depicted as a Golden Age of plenty and peace.  Saturn’s symbol is god’s scythe that is to be used at harvest.  The Roman festival of Saturnalia honoring Saturn was a time of liberty for slaves and freedmen alike.  Some associated the freedom celebrated at Saturnalia as symbolizing the “freeing of souls into immortality”

So how does this compute with what Jesus said about the “last days?”

Jesus said,

Now when these things begin to occur, Look Up and lift up your heads, because your redemption (deliverance) is drawing near. And He told them a parable: Look at the fig tree and all the trees; When they put forth their buds and come out in leaf, you see for yourselves and perceive and know that Summer is already near.  Luke 21:28-30 AMPC

Now, could it be?… while Jesus is speaking to Jews in the temple in this passage, that Jesus is speaking as God of the Universe, in a way only He would understand, but that the local Romans/gentiles would ultimately, potentially be able to key into that this GUY is even in authority of the Heavens, of Saturn, god of agriculture, himself.  Jesus would have known gentiles would ultimately hear His message.  In fact, this passage is recorded by Luke who was writing to the gentiles. Besides, the Jews and Christians were living amidst the Roman empire, they too would have been familiar with this Roman god of agriculture.   So, theoretically, Jesus, as a marker of His identity as Creator of the Universe with authority over even Saturn could have made the reference not as a literal note of Israel’s agricultural season but, instead speaking as the Maker of Time, and the Universe itself, of seasonal clocks that no one but He even knew existed at that time, but that the Romans/ the World, at that time might key into.

Saturn’s mythological reign occured during the Golden Age:

“The Golden Age was first, when Man, yet new,

No rule but uncorrupted Reason knew:

And, with a native bent, did good pursue.

Unforc’d by punishment, un-aw’d by fear.

His words were simple, and his soul sincere;

Needless was written law, where none opprest:

The law of Man was written in his breast.[7]”

At the end of the Roman Republic (roughly between 44 and 38 BCE),  the poet Virgil, wrote Eclogue, in it anticipating a new golden age of peace and justice.

But again, Jesus owns the Universe platform, and we

…became his Poetry, a re-created people that will fulfill the destiny he has given each of us, for we are joined to Jesus, the Anointed One. Even before we were born, God planned in advance our destiny and the good works we would do to fulfill it !  Ephesians 2:7, 10 TPT

And He has become Peace for us,

Ethnic hatred has been dissolved by the crucifixion of His precious body on the cross. The legal code that stood condemning every one of us has now been repealed by His command. His triune essence has made peace between us by starting over—forming one new race of humanity, Jews and non-Jews fused together!  Ephesians 2:15 TPT

The Jews like the Romans, expected a new age, a new Messianic Age with a new temple to be built and sacrifices to resume.   What they don’t understand is that it is … thru Jesus’ own sacrificial blood, that His One New Humanity rises up as a Holy Temple.

You are rising like the perfectly fitted stones of the temple; and your lives are being built up together upon the ideal foundation laid by the apostles and prophets, and best of all, you are connected to the Head Cornerstone of the building, the Anointed One, Jesus Christ himself! This means that God is transforming each one of you into the Holy of Holies, His dwelling place, through the power of the Holy Spirit living in you! Ephesians 2:20, 22 TPT

Now, while we do not know the identity of an End Times antichrist.  We do know that the spirit of antichrist that sets itself up against the Son, Jesus, and God, Our Father is alive and well.  The spirit of antichrist denies the evident work of the Holy Spirit in His Church, the Bride.

God’s weapon against the infiltration and firm establishment of antichrist in the world is sacrificial love, God’s love.  As the church, we are commanded to pursue this love and make it our one pursuit.

Jesus answered him, “‘Love the Lord your God with every passion of your heart, with all the energy of your being, and with every thought that is within you.’  This is the great and supreme commandment.  And the second is like it in importance: ‘You must love your friend in the same way you love yourself.’  Contained within these commandments to love you will find all the meaning of the Law and the Prophets.”           Matthew 22:37-40 TPT

Isn’t it interesting that before Jesus’ discussion of End Times in Luke 21, He shares the story of the widow and her two copper coins, a story of sacrificial love, how she gave all that she had with which to support herself.  Jesus marked her example as one to Remember, to follow.

Look Up… “Listen to me,” He said. “This poor widow has given a larger offering than any of the wealthy.  For the rich only gave out of their surplus, but she sacrificed out of her poverty and gave to God all that she had to live on.”  Luke 21:3-4 TPT

So, are we living in the End Times? …Indeed

..So when peering into the future, David prophesied of the Messiah’s resurrection. And God revealed to him that the Messiah would not be abandoned to the realm of death, nor would His body experience decay.

“Can’t you see it? God has resurrected Jesus, and we all have seen Him! “Then God exalted Him to His right hand upon the throne of highest honor. And the Father gave Him the authority to send the promised Holy Spirit, which is being poured out upon us today. This is what you’re seeing and hearing! “Now everyone in Israel can know for certain that Jesus, whom you crucified, is the one God has made both Lord and the Messiah.”  Acts 2:17, 19, 31-33, 36 TPT

So, when will these things happen?   When will we see …Pursue Love, sacrificial love.  We have a lot more influence on holding at bay the world of darkness than we often give ourselves credit for.

Now you understand that I have imparted to you all my authority to trample over his kingdom. You will trample upon every demon before you and overcome every power Satan possesses. Absolutely nothing will be able to harm you as you walk in this authority.  However, your real source of joy isn’t merely that these spirits submit to your authority, but that your names are written in the journals of heaven and that you belong to God’s kingdom. This is the true source of your authority.”   Luke 10:19-20 TPT
