Whatever is True

A Composite Sketch of Jesus, His Life, Purpose, and Commission

THAT SAME day Jesus went out of the house and was sitting beside the sea.  Matthew 13:1 AMPC

My rightness and justice are near, My salvation is going forth, and My arms shall rule the peoples; the islands shall wait for and expect Me, and on My arm shall they trust and wait with hope… For I am the Lord your God, Who stirs up the sea so that its waves roar and Who by rebuke restrains it–the Lord of hosts is His name.  Isaiah 51:5, 15 AMPC

For there [is only] one God, and [only] one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus,  1 Timothy 2:5 AMPC

And there is salvation in and through no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by and in which we must be saved.  Acts 4:12 AMPC

For in Him the whole fullness of Deity (the Godhead) continues to dwell in bodily form [giving complete expression of the divine nature].  And you are in Him, made full and having come to fullness of life [in Christ you too are filled with the Godhead–Father, Son and Holy Spirit–and reach full spiritual stature]. And He is the Head of all rule and authority [of every angelic principality and power].  Colossians 2:9-10 AMPC

…(hold) fast to the Head, from Whom the entire body, supplied and knit together by means of its joints and ligaments, grows with a growth that is from God.  Colossians 2:19 AMPC

Jesus is the teacher and growth agent,

[Jesus] journeyed on through towns and villages, teaching, and making His way toward Jerusalem.  Luke 13:22 AMPC

And when He saw [their confidence in Him, springing from] their faith, He said, Man, your sins are forgiven you!  Luke 5:20 AMPC

At this, the Pharisees bristled,

But Jesus, knowing (seeing) their thoughts, said, Why do you think evil and harbor malice in your hearts? But in order that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins and remit the penalty, He then said to the paralyzed man, Get up! Pick up your sleeping pad and go to your own house.  Matthew 9:4, 6 AMPC

Truly I tell you, whoever does not receive and accept and welcome the kingdom of God like a little child [does] positively shall not enter it at all. And He took them [the children up one by one] in His arms and [fervently invoked a] blessing, placing His hands upon them.     Mark 10:15-16 AMPC

Who has heard of such a thing? Who has seen such things? Shall a land be born in one day? Or shall a nation be brought forth in a moment? … Shall I bring to the [moment of] birth and not cause to bring forth? says the Lord. Shall I Who causes to bring forth shut the womb? says your God.

Of coarse not!

As one whom his mother comforts, so will I comfort you; you shall be comforted in Jerusalem. When you see this, your heart shall rejoice; your bones shall flourish like green and tender grass. And the [powerful] hand of the Lord shall be revealed and known to be with His servants…  Isaiah 66:8-9, 13-14 AMPC

For,

Jesus said…, Did I not tell you and promise you that if you would believe and rely on Me, you would see the glory of God?  John 11:40 AMPC

Then one of the rulers of the synagogue came up, Jairus by name; and seeing Him, he prostrated himself at His feet And begged Him earnestly, saying, My little daughter is at the point of death. Come and lay Your hands on her, so that she may be healed and live. And Jesus went with him; and a great crowd kept following Him and pressed Him from all sides [so as almost to suffocate Him].  Mark 5:22-24 AMPC

…Jesus addressed the crowd. He said, I am the Light of the world. He who follows Me will not be walking in the dark, but will have the Light which is Life.  John 8:12 AMPC

And Jesus, in pity, touched their eyes; and instantly they received their sight and followed Him.  Matthew 20:34 AMPC

…many of the multitude believed in Him [adhered to Him, trusted in Him, relied on Him]. And they kept saying, When the Christ comes, will He do [can He be expected to do] more miracles and produce more proofs and signs than what this Man has done? The Pharisees learned how the people were saying these things about Him under their breath; and the chief priests and Pharisees sent attendants (guards) to arrest Him. Therefore Jesus said, For a little while I am [still] with you, and then I go back to Him Who sent Me. He who believes in Me [who cleaves to and trusts in and relies on Me] as the Scripture has said, From his innermost being shall flow [continuously] springs and rivers of living water.       John 7:31-33, 38 AMPC

So, Jesus

…being essentially one with God and in the form of God [possessing the fullness of the attributes which make God God], … (had) stripped Himself [of all privileges and rightful dignity], so as to assume the guise of a servant (slave), in that He became like men and was born a human being. And after He had appeared in human form, He abased and humbled Himself [still further] and carried His obedience to the extreme of death, even the death of the cross!  Philippians 2:6-8 AMPC

…the angel (then) said to the women, Do not be alarmed and frightened, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, Who was crucified. He is not here; He has risen, as He said [He would do]. Come, see the place where He lay. And when they saw Him, they fell down and worshiped Him; but some doubted. Jesus approached and, breaking the silence, said to them, All authority (all power of rule) in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. Go then and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Teaching them to observe everything that I have commanded you, and behold, I am with you all the days (perpetually, uniformly, and on every occasion), to the [very] close and consummation of the age. Amen (so let it be).                         Matthew 28:5-6, 17-20 AMPC

For,

…I am telling you nothing but the truth when I say it is profitable (good, expedient, advantageous) for you that I go away. Because if I do not go away, the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Advocate, Intercessor, Strengthener, Standby) will not come to you [into close fellowship with you]; but if I go away, I will send Him to you [to be in close fellowship with you]. And when He comes, He will convict and convince the world and bring demonstration to it about sin and about righteousness (uprightness of heart and right standing with God) and about judgment: About sin, because they do not believe in Me [trust in, rely on, and adhere to Me]; About righteousness (uprightness of heart and right standing with God), because I go to My Father, and you will see Me no longer; About judgment, because the ruler (evil genius, prince) of this world [Satan] is judged and condemned and sentence already is passed upon him.  John 16:7-11 AMPC

Now,

Everything that the Father has is Mine. That is what I meant when I said that He [the Spirit] will take the things that are Mine and will reveal (declare, disclose, transmit) it to you…At that time you will ask (pray) in My Name; and I am not saying that I will ask the Father on your behalf [for it will be unnecessary]. For the Father Himself [tenderly] loves you because you have loved Me and have believed that I came out from the Father. I came out from the Father and have come into the world; again, I am leaving the world and going to the Father…

Jesus answered them, Do you now believe? [Do you believe it at last?]  I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer [take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]! For I have overcome the world. [I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you.]  John 16:15 , 26-28, 31, 33 AMPC
