Whatever is True

Is Jesus your Lord God and Master?  How so?

What would it really mean if He were?

Jesus instructed,

…“Follow Me [believing in Me as Master and Teacher], and allow the [spiritually] dead to bury their own dead.”  Matthew 8:22 AMP

While the disciples did indeed follow Him, their trust and confidence in His power as Master was quickly put to the test as a storm came upon them at sea, and He was asleep, and they feared for their lives.

They came to Jesus and woke Him, saying, “Master, Master, we are about to die!” He got up and rebuked the wind and the raging, violent waves, and they ceased, and it became calm [a perfect peacefulness]. And He said to them, “Where is your faith [your confidence in Me]?” They were afraid and astonished, saying to one another, “Who then is this, that He commands even the winds and the sea, and they obey Him?”  Luke 8:24-25 AMP

In contrast, Jesus praised a Cannanite woman for her personal trust and confidence in His power.

And a Canaanite woman from that district came out and began to cry out [urgently], saying, “Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David (Messiah); my daughter is cruelly possessed by a demon.” He answered, “I was commissioned by God and sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” But she came and began to kneel down before Him, saying, “Lord, help me!” And He replied, “It is not good (appropriate, fair) to take the children’s bread and throw it to the pet dogs.” She said, “Yes, Lord; but even the pet dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their [young] masters’ table.” Then Jesus answered her, “Woman, your faith [your personal trust and confidence in My power] is great; it will be done for you as you wish.” And her daughter was healed from that moment.  Matthew 15:22, 24-28 AMP

So, for Jesus to be your Lord God and Master, it is not just about being faithful and obedient to the Word as servants, but it is also about trust and confidence in God as a refuge, your Rock of ages.

In that day this song will be sung in the land of Judah: “We have a strong city; He sets up salvation as walls and ramparts. Open the gates, that the righteous nation may enter, The one that remains faithful and trustworthy. You will keep in perfect and constant peace the one whose mind is steadfast [that is, committed and focused on You—in both inclination and character], Because he trusts and takes refuge in You [with hope and confident expectation]. Trust [confidently] in the Lord forever [He is your fortress, your shield, your banner], For the Lord God is an everlasting Rock [the Rock of Ages]. Indeed, in the path of Your judgments, O Lord, We have waited expectantly for You; Your name, even Your memory, is the desire and deep longing of our souls (AMPC). Lord, You will establish peace for us, For You have done all our works in us (NKJV)  Isaiah 26: 1-4, 8, 12,

The peace that we have is encapsulated in this one sentence:

Follow Me [believing in Me as Master and Teacher], and allow the [spiritually] dead to bury their own dead.”  Matthew 8:22 AMP

With Jesus as Master, he has no dead, all are raised to life eternal.

O Lord our God, other masters besides You have ruled over us; But through You alone we confess Your name. The [wicked] dead will not live [again], the spirits of the dead will not rise and return; Therefore You have punished and destroyed them, And You have wiped out every memory of them [every trace of them]. You have increased the nation, O Lord; You have increased the nation, You are glorified; You have extended all the borders of the land. Your dead will live; Their dead bodies will rise. You who lie in the dust, awake and shout for joy! For your dew is a dew of [celestial] light [heavenly, supernatural], And the earth will give birth to the spirits of the dead.  Isaiah 26:13-15, 19 AMP

For it is by grace [God’s remarkable compassion and favor drawing you to Christ] that you have been saved [actually delivered from judgment and given eternal life] through faith. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [not through your own effort], but it is the [undeserved, gracious] gift of God; not as a result of [your] works [nor your attempts to keep the Law], so that no one will [be able to] boast or take credit in any way [for his salvation]. For we are His workmanship [His own master work, a work of art], created in Christ Jesus [reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, ready to be used] for good works, which God prepared [for us] beforehand [taking paths which He set], so that we would walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us].  Ephesians 2:8-10 AMP

We are His own work of art!

He deserves all our praise!

Too often, we receive the healing like the 10 lepers, crying out,

… “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!”

and then go on with our lives without giving Him our praise and worship.

One of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, glorifying and praising and honoring God with a loud voice; and he lay face downward at Jesus’ feet, thanking Him [over and over]. He was a Samaritan.  Luke 17:13, 15-16 AMP

Oh Lord God!  We honor, revere, worship, adore, and extol You Lord Jesus.  You and You alone are Lord God, Master, Savior, Redeemer, and our Beloved!

All praise, honor, and glory belong to You for we are Your own master workmanship!
