Teresa is not a stranger to the experience of disappointment and pain. The most formative experience for her has been that of marital conflict and separation. Teresa relates her seasons of pain to wilderness walks through which she was challenged to move closer to Jesus, fully relying on and having complete confidence in His goodness, love, and power. During this walk not only did Jesus come alongside her and fashion her a new heart, but during what was an emotional famine He fed and nurtured her with His Word, and cared for her, both encouraging, and giving hope and a promise for the future.

It was during the recovery, build-up phase she saw God increase her faith, her passion for the Word, and mix in a healthy dose of boldness. As a means of establishing renewed purpose and direction in her life He gave her the scripture I Corinthians 14: 1,3 –

Eagerly pursue and seek to acquire this love [make it your aim, your great quest]; and earnestly desire and cultivate the spiritual endowments (gifts), especially that you may prophesy (interpret the divine will and purpose in inspired preaching and teaching).

But [on the other hand], the one, who prophesies [who interprets the divine will and purpose in inspired preaching and teaching] speaks to men for their upbuilding and constructive spiritual progress and encouragement and consolation.

Whatever is True is an expression of this passion for Jesus, and a desire to build up the body of Christ through the Word, that people will come to know God, not just of Him, and His love for them.
