God Uses a Bunion As An Object Lesson

I started developing a bunion a few months back. It has grown quite large in a short amount of time.  A bunion is when the big toe leans toward the second toe, rather than pointing straight ahead because the ligament has slipped off the joint and is no longer keeping the joint in line with the bone.  This throws the bones out of alignment—producing the bunion’s bump.  Bunions are associated with tight shoes and high heels but the cause isn’t really known.  I really only wear heels on Sundays so its development is a surprise.  So, I asked God, what is up with this bunion?

Peter said to Him, You shall never wash my feet! Jesus answered him, Unless I wash you, you have no part with (in) Me [you have no share in companionship with Me].  John 13:8 AMPC

Therefore,

…cut through and make firm and plain and smooth, straight paths for your feet [yes, make them safe and upright and happy paths that go in the right direction], so that the lame and halting [limbs] may not be put out of joint, but rather may be cured. Hebrews 12:13 AMPC

Praise God!

He makes my feet like the hinds’ [firm and able]; He sets me secure and confident upon the heights.  2 Samuel 22:34 AMPC

For,

You provide a broad path for my feet, so that my ankles do not give way.  2 Samuel 22:37 NIV

Yes,

Establish my steps and direct them by [means of] Your word; let not any iniquity have dominion over me.  Psalm 119:133 AMPC

Please do not let me fall in a common snare,

For being ignorant of the righteousness that God ascribes [which makes one acceptable to Him in word, thought, and deed] and seeking to establish a righteousness (a means of salvation) of their own, they did not obey or submit themselves to God’s righteousness.  Romans 10:3 AMPC

It is

..with the heart a person believes (adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Christ) and so is justified (declared righteous, acceptable to God), and with the mouth he confesses (declares openly and speaks out freely his faith) and confirms [his] salvation.      Romans 10:10 AMPC

How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good tidings, who publishes peace, who brings good tidings of good, who publishes salvation, who says to Zion, Your God reigns! [Acts 10:36; Rom. 10:15; Eph. 6:14-16.]  Isaiah 52:7 AMPC

Lord, I thank you for the reminder to stay on your path for my good, and I thank you that thru my correction you prove me to publish the good news of grace and forgiveness readily available thru You!
