A Letter From a Daughter of Eve to Jesus

If I could turn back time, would I?

For, I cried out to You, and you answered.  You brought me from death to life.

Your works have been and are good, I know that full well.

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth…God saw all that he had made, and it was very good.   Genesis 1:1, 31a NIV

In fact, Your works are more than good.   They exceed description.  They are more than I have and can imagine, and they are more than I deserve.

The unity You desired and craved in the Garden with Your creation was lost.

You could have left.

Instead, you turned the greatest tragedy into the greatest love story and made me Your reason.

That You would come to me and wipe away all tears, to end suffering and pain.

He will swallow up death [in victory; He will abolish death forever]. And the Lord God will wipe away tears from all faces; and the reproach of His people He will take away from off all the earth; for the Lord has spoken it. [I Cor. 15:26, 54; II Tim. 1:10.]  Isaiah 25:8 AMPC

I realize it now… it’s because we all belong to You.  You love us.

Know that the Lord is God. It is He who made us, and we are His; we are His people, the sheep of His pasture.  Psalms 100:3 NIV

I bow down to You, worship and adore You!  Thankful, that in Your goodness, after all this time, You remained faithful, pursuing my heart.

Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise; give thanks to Him and praise His name.  For the Lord is good and His love endures forever; His faithfulness continues through all generations.            Psalms 100:4-5 NIV

You never looked away.

The Lord looks from heaven, He beholds all the sons of men; From His dwelling place He looks [intently] upon all the inhabitants of the earth– He Who fashions the hearts of them all, Who considers all their doings. Psalm 33:13-15 AMPC

Praise You Father!  You did not abandon me.  You had compassion on me.

Praise the Lord. Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever…Many times He delivered them, but they were bent on rebellion, and they wasted away in their sin.  Yet He took note of their distress when He heard their cry; for their sake He remembered His covenant and out of His great love He relented.  Psalms 106:1, 43-45 NIV

You submitted Yourself to death that I might live.

For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life. For God did not send the Son into the world in order to judge (to reject, to condemn, to pass sentence on) the world, but that the world might find salvation and be made safe and sound through Him.  John 3:16-17 AMPC

I cried, to You, “Come, Lord Jesus, I need you!” and You came and healed my heart that I might dance before you.  Thank you, Jesus!  I cannot be silent!  I must share the Good News!

Lord my God, I called to you for help, and you healed me.  You turned my wailing into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy, that my heart may sing your praises and not be silent.  Lord my God, I will praise you forever.  Psalms 30:2, 11-12 NIV

I must say, “Everyone, come hear!  Cry out to Him in your need, and He will give you a drink of living water!”

How precious is Your steadfast love, O God! The children of men take refuge and put their trust under the shadow of Your wings. They relish and feast on the abundance of Your house; and You cause them to drink of the stream of Your pleasures. For with You is the fountain of life; in Your light do we see light. [John 4:10, 14.]  Psalm 36:7-9 AMPC

Blessed (happy and to be envied) are those who cleanse their garments, that they may have the authority and right to [approach] the tree of life and to enter through the gates into the city. [Gen. 2:9; 3:22, 24.] The [Holy] Spirit and the bride (the church, the true Christians) say, Come! And let him who is listening say, Come! And let everyone come who is thirsty [who is painfully conscious of his need of those things by which the soul is refreshed, supported, and strengthened]; and whoever [earnestly] desires to do it, let him come, take, appropriate, and drink the water of Life without cost. [Isa. 55:1.]  Revelation 22:14, 17 AMPC

I love you Jesus!  Your now my reason.

For even to this were you called [it is inseparable from your vocation]. For Christ also suffered for you, leaving you [His personal] example, so that you should follow in His footsteps.  1 Peter 2:21 AMPC

Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.  Psalms 23:6 NIV
